April 2007
Spring couldn't be arriving sooner, we need dry weather! Still, the project marches on.
You may notice from this month's photos how those old cars are now gone. Special thanks to Mason County Salvage for facilitating removal. Ceci was especially helpful from the company. Several delays due to mud and logistics were managed well. We can begin our plantings and landscaping efforts with this junk out of the way!
Now that the pool is uncovered, it has become extremely important to secure the grounds, which we have. I am sure our insurance company is happy about this too.
My contractor @ HOH Construction went on vacation the same week as the Mason County Washington official who signs off on our new blueprints and structural design. Therefore, we continue to wait until entering the home, for framing, etc.
We are experimenting with the huge garage/shop/future entertainment structure! I am thinking Mondrian for the color palette. This will no doubt be changed here and there, stay tuned for adjustments! We also discovered fantastic windows that were boarded up, hidden for many years. We will be calling Huntington Glass in Downtown Shelton for replacements, after removal of coverings and the painting of this extra building.
The septic system still needs to be tested. It would be wonderful if this item passes muster. Otherwise, this will be another month of design work and installation, adding up to 12k - 15k to project.
Once we have framing and improvements with structural integrity completed, we will move on to whole house electrical (it's gutted), insulation, exterior siding, drywall. From there, we shop for colors, one fireplace insert and one circular fireplace, kitchen, baths, finishes. After that, the details such as fixtures, lighting hues, molding.
Let us pray..........
And See You Next Month!
